ID NOW™ is a rapid, instrument-based isothermal system for the qualitative detection of Covid-19. It is significantly faster than other molecular methods and more accurate than conventional rapid tests.

• Only trained staff at clinics with CLIA-waivers may use ID NOW™. This waiver helps ensure our clinic is following appropriate procedures and quality controls to conduct our lab tests on site.

How does ID NOW™ technology work?

• A sample is taken by swabbing the inside of your nose.
• ID NOW™ examines the sample, looking for the DNA or RNA of the virus. All viruses and bacteria have their own unique DNA or RNA that carry their genetic information.
• ID NOW™ multiplies RNA or DNA of sample from a few target molecules up to a billion in a matter of minutes.

Although Michigan’s COVID-19 pandemic orders changed on June 22nd to lift capacity restrictions on indoor and outdoor settings and to no longer require residents to wear a mask, Spine Specialists of MI must continue to adhere to OSHA/MIOSHA rules and regulations. As a healthcare facility, we will continue to follow CDC guidelines, which recommends that patients and providers continue to wear masks the entire time in our office. Our office will continue to uphold the following protocols:

• Masks must continue to be worn upon entry and at all times within the building.
• Temperature checks and health prescreens for everyone entering the building.
• Our Office will continue to follow social distancing guidelines in the waiting room and throughout the Office.
• Only one adult may accompany the patient and we encourage you to wait in your car.
